I like to use an example of building a house when it comes to helping people transform their lives.
People want to know how they can break the routine and start living to the fullest. How to fulfill their potential and create the life they dream about.
There are a lot of teachings and methods that promise just that. It can get overwhelming and most give up before they start seeing results. In our world, we are overstimulated with information all around us. Most people just want to come home, turn on the TV and tune out.
When they come to me, I want them to focus on one thing only, at least in the beginning of our journey together. This is where the example of building a house comes in. When we want to build a house, we find an architect, we design it, work on every detail, and then we are ready to start building. So what is the first thing that has to happen? We need to build a solid foundation. Without the foundation, the house will fall apart and everything we’ve been building will be ruined. Same with the personal transformation; without a solid foundation, we’ll keep going back to where we started.
So what is the foundation in the transformational process? It is self-love.
It seems very simple but, in fact, most people struggle with loving and accepting themselves completely. So we work on that first and foremost. Once we build this foundation, life begins to change.
So this is where we start and everything else will grow from this solid foundation. Anything can grow then.
